Hi David, thank you for your bug report, sadly I'm unable to reproduce the behavior your seeing. If you have time can you provide a bit more information.
What extensions are do you have installed? You can find this in about:support.

This looks like a reboot issue. I tried it in safe-mode with no problem, then booting back into normal mode it started working as well.
For what it's worth, I shut down all open apps during install, but either way, it's inconclusive.

Thanks for taking the time to dig into this one on your end. It's too bad it appears to be one of those finicky hard to reproduce behaviors.
Does anyone else have insight on where to go with this or should we move it to worksforme?

Do you mean Firefox Safe Mode or the OS Safe Mode? If the Problem is not reproducible in Firefox Safe Mode (means Firefox with default settings, deactived addons etc) then it could be likely the cause of a setting, extension etc you have installed

I went into OS safe mode. If I can reproduce it, I'll use Firefox Safe Mode to ferret it out. To narrow it down, I'll enable extensions one at a time unless there's a better way. Thanks.

Reporter, please can you confirm whether this issue still occurs using Firefox 4.0.1 (http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/new/) or higher, in Firefox safe mode (http://support.mozilla.com/kb/Safe+Mode) and/or with a clean profile (http://support.mozilla.com/kb/Basic+Troubleshooting#w_8-make-a-new-profile). Ideally, also check using the latest nightly: http://nightly.mozilla.org/
If this issue no longer occurs, please close as "Resolved Worksforme".
It it in fact still occurs, please provide as much extra information as possible, including what versions tried, whether safe mode/new profile tested etc. Thanks! :-)
(Template reply to inactive UNCO bugs; also setting closemedate for 2 weeks time, given lack of activity).

Marking WFM per comment 3 / comment 4.
Please reopen if this occurs again using 4.0.1 or later.
Thanks :-)
