(Keywords: hang)

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.1; en-US) AppleWebKit/534.10 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/8.0.552.224 Safari/534.10
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:2.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/4.0

Trying to run a 'resize end' script with jquery. But attempting to resize the screen causes FF to become black-screened, and the OS unresponsive, mouse fixed on the resize arrow shape. Ctrl-Alt-Delete and terminating FF from the task manager allows control again.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Load the page - it's blank.
2. Try to resize
Actual Results:
Black screen of doom, OS unresponsive to mouse clicks.

Expected Results:
Nothing.

OK in chrome, not tested in IE.
Keywords: crash
OS: Windows 7 → Windows XP
I have pared down the code, but for what it's worth I was trying to implement the resizeend jquery event extension from https://gist.github.com/370446
Have changed keywords from crash to hang, since that's more accurate.
Keywords: crashhang
OS: Windows XP → All
Summary: Firefox crash and OS hang on window.resize script. → Firefox hang and OS unresponsive on window.resize script.
OS: All → Windows 7
Is the alert() call in your testcase critical to triggering this? If so, probably a dupe of bug 626963.
Thanks, that's the last place I was looking, marked as dupe.
