The text cursor is missing. Clicking on a web page at a specific point, should cause the text cursor to appear at the point on the page where the pointer was clicked. 

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
On a web page, drag the mouse over a piece of text. Now use the cursor keys to move the cursor and try selecting a different piece of text using the cursor keys. You will see that there is no visible cursor, so you are often guessing the text selection point (especially on big pages, where scrolling is involved in text selection). There should be a cursor to guide us. This is needed to be able to properly utilize copy and paste.

Could you see if the issue occurs if using Firefox in safe mode:

How about with a new, empty testing profile? (Don't install any addons into it)

Click at the top of this page, then try to use the cursor keys to select the words "The text cursor is missing". There is no cursor to guide you to this point.

Reporter, please can you confirm whether this issue still occurs using Firefox 4.0.1 (http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/new/) or higher, in Firefox safe mode (http://support.mozilla.com/kb/Safe+Mode) and/or with a clean profile (http://support.mozilla.com/kb/Basic+Troubleshooting#w_8-make-a-new-profile). Ideally, also check using the latest nightly: http://nightly.mozilla.org/

If this issue no longer occurs, please close as "Resolved Worksforme".

It it in fact still occurs, please provide as much extra information as possible, including what versions tried, whether safe mode/new profile tested etc. Thanks! :-)
