As part of launching Firefox 4 - we want to continue to encourage others to
share how awesome Firefox 4 is and tell all their friends and family.

This campaign is designed to reach Firefox influencers and existing Firefox 4
users to take action and help others in their circle of friends and family
upgrade. We're creating a fun and compelling cue for those influencers with a
message strong enough that friends share.

Use-case:
A Fx4 user sees a CTA on our Fx 4 start page, which asks “Do you know someone
in your network who isn't currently using Firefox 4? Can you help them upgrade
and save the web?” They click the CTA and are taken to a unique landing page
(on mozilla.com) which contains a step by step guide to helping ones friends
and family upgrade to Firefox 4.

Content:
All content style should mirror our existing product and branding treatment.

Please read the campaign planning doc for more information:
https://docs.google.com/document/d/1Q1bFYjU8Z8S2m-y5fkO3njDvbgM8DBP1xjCaWKMunzw/edit?hl=en#

Timing:
To go live is 2-3 weeks after Firefox 4 GA.

Rough mock-up of the moz.com landing page / FB tab for reference

I'd like to use http://www.woot.com/minions as the inspiration for this page. The mock-up attached is pretty rough, but I hope you'll get the idea.

In terms of the illustrations, I'd be super happy to use our existing characters or a form of them.

The look and feel of the page should mirror a content page on Mozilla.com

In terms of the images - I'd love for them to be emotive and descriptive.

Image 1: Something which helps the visitor understand they can help spread fx 4. That's pretty general I know (!) On the w00t site... they have an army of people. Could we do something like this?

Image 2: this is the light bulb - a-ha moment! It says I can help, someone is having a rubbish experience of the web, and I can help!

Image 3: this section is about how to help. We’re providing materials for folks to share / point people to in the content box. I'm open to suggestions here for the image everything from a checklist image to someone having a eureka moment? (Help please lovely design people!! Struggling on this one!)

Image 4: Last section is about feeling the pride and sharing. Can we have a character looking very happy with themselves.. feeling full of satisfaction / pride?

From the w00t website, they also have nice arrows - would be super consider something similar if that jives with you.

Note: we will also be creating a customer Facebook tab that will have condensed content. We'll need a version of this page for that page. William is helping facilitate us kicking that off with Zac.

Tara - would you like a separate bug filed for the Facebook tab design? Or keep in here as it will be virtually the same for the first iteration of the new tab.

Hi Jane I think it's best to file a new bug. It won't be a simple copy and paste since the canvas size is much smaller.. so, would be best to take the final design for the landing page and then see how to best translate that into the custom tab. Same with the copy. Thanks.

Hey all,

First pass at the layout here: http://mozilla.seanmartell.com/engagement/influencer.png

Things will change, sizes will shrink, real copy will be real (those are all my placeholder words, please ignore)... but this is the general style/look-n-feel. Stay tuned!

Hi Sean,

I'm digesting a bit more - but gut reaction is super. The one thing that didn't come through was that connecting bee-line in the design. I didn't realize there was a thread to the page at all. Note: it should be implied, not blatantly obvious, however, I didn't get implied in the current iteration.

Yes, that is roughed in right now. The line and flow will be more obvious for sure.

Hi Sean -- the page is really superb. Thank you. I think the only thing I would say it that as a woman the character feels a bit masculine. I love him though! Are there other touches that we could introduce that bring through some femininity? I just want to make sure it appeals to both sexes. (Sorry I sound like a feminist here, right! Girl power!)

Hi Sean - wanted to check in, when we might be able to expect the final assets? Web Dev are set to start on Monday April 4. Thanks for your help, I know you're working on all hands stuff as well. Thanks, Jane

Thanks Sean. Really appreciate you knocking this out on such short notice.

I think we'll need to revisit this at some point and make some tweaks, iterations to the design. But it works great for now and Jane can track performance to help inform any updates to the design we might need.

Thanks again.

PS. I like how you did a muted/greyscale of the crowd+critter scene in the background.
