User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 5.1; rv:2.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/4.0 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 5.1; rv:2.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/4.0 I want to add a bookmark via the add bookmarks dialog, e.g. accessed via the menu or by the keyboard shortcut Ctrl+D. In the add bookmark dialog, I click on the drop-down combo box titled folder and select "choose" (I am not sure about the exact english phrases, since I use German language Firefox, but in the next step I woul expect to be able to select a folder). As a result, firefox freezes. This is reproducible with arbitrary URLs which I tried to add as bookmark. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. open "add bookmark" dialog 2. click on "folder" drop down combo box 3. click on "select" Actual Results: firefox freezes, has to be killed in taskmanager Expected Results: provide a list of destination folders from which one is to be selected
Is your Issue reproducible without Extensions in Safe-Mode and/or using a new Profile? https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Safe+Mode https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Managing+profiles#Creating_a_profile
Severity: critical → normal
Version: unspecified → Trunk
I performed the following steps: 1) created new profile, problem was not observed using the new profile 2) started FF in safe mode, problem was not observed After that I started again in normal mode with the old profile, and the problem was gone, although several add-ons were activated. Many thanks for the help, I'm not sure this was actually a bug or if only something in the profile was corrupt which was fixed by the actions described above.
