Description

Hey guys. The new first run page looks great, but one component of the design didn't make it - it's missing those watermark-style graphics on the two main white boxes (logo for the left one, screenshot for the right one).

As it is now, those boxes look more starkly white than they were intended. Can we get this fix (am hoping it's quick & easy) in for 1.5?

Adding this as a P2 (behind the mobile launch).

Potch - can you help out here? Eh? Eh?

(our code freeze for the release is Friday EOD)

Any chance we can get this into the 2.0 release? (code freeze today)

This feels like a really small change, but it makes a really big difference on the look of the page. Please let me know.

Thanks-

Can we *please* get this into 2.1? As of now, the page really isn't finished, and it's such a small fix.

Assigning this to Steven G since Potch (sadly) is not on our mozcom team (one day Potch, one day - keep trying).

Potch, I see the CSS is minified - is there an un-minified version somewhere?

Done in trunk in r87495. Merged to stage in r87496.

There were a few catches on this one. The Photoshop mockup included a Mac screenshot. I've added Windows and Linux screenshots as well. We default to Win of the platform detection fails.

The Linux screenshot doesn't use the half-and-half style, as the top right of the browser in Linux is mostly empty. I went with a top-left only arrangement and I think it looks line.

I've also changed the way the CSS is minified. Rather than storing manually pre-minified CSS in SVN, we minify with a PHP function like we do on the home page.

QA please note that this affects both firefox/4.0/firstrun/ and firefox/4.0/whatsnew/ (they should be identical).

I left out an image in my commit (it fails gracefully, just looks like it did before this addition and there was no 404).

Fixed in production in r87542. Merged to stage in r87543.

QA should look for the fade out Firefox logo in the bottom of the "Step 1:" box.

When does the new version from comment #13 get pushed to production, then? Just curious.

Thanks all - this is looking good.

This is a relatively safe change. James, you can push any time.

The Mac screenshot shows the Minefield Start Page instead of Firefox.
Also, toolbar is not default: small icons, home button on left, extra buttons...

James, there was a second merge to stage that I think was omitted in the push to production on this: r87543.

Also, I've fixed the screenshot issue from comment #18 in trunk in r87870. and merged it to stage in r87871.

So, two revisions to merge from stage to production: r87543 and r87871.
