User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.0; rv:2.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/4.0
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.0; rv:2.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/4.0

I have "Open new window in new tab" checked in Options as the default. Last night, after installing FF 4.0, it would instead default to opening new windows unless I specifically selected "open in new tab" in the context window.

Today, I deselected "Open new window in new tab" and after a few minutes went back and reselected it. Now, FF4.0 is opening the newly selected URL as a tab but not as a new tab. It's opening it in the tab with current focus.

I hope this info will be helpful. The way it worked in FF 3.5 was perfect.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. (Problem seems to be variable; see above Details).
2.
3.

Expected Results:
"Open new window in new tab" selected as default results in new-URL "Open" selections appearing in a new tab, with the focus shifted to there, every time. The way it was in FF 3.5, IOW.
Please run Firefox in Safe mode and check if you can reproduce it. Could be an extension related issue.
