What's the value of the following prefs on this system
app.update.interval
app.update.timer
app.update.idletime

Comment 2•14 years ago

interval 600
timer 6000
idletime 60
shall I set it back to its default values?

Definitely... there are several protections in the code to try to prevent this from happening but there are a couple where it is extremely difficult to protect against this from happening when the values are too low. Report back in this bug if it stops happening.

Updated to defaults.
I will report back if I don't see it happening anymore.

I think it has value to say that many nightlies have been triggered yesterday and today.
I probably ignored the first prompt (which I do recall) and then when prompted again there were many accumulated nightly updates.

Has this happened since you reset the prefs?

Quite certain it was due to the prefs especially since this has happened numerous times when QA sets the values way too low so resolving -> invalid
