Hi Tara.

This project is for the the FX 4 Upgrade campaign with User Engagement. I will be producing how to install firefox video and would like an accompanying PDF copy for the step by step instructions.

I can provide the step by step instructions (not sure if I need copy help here as well- maybe copywriter to review it and add some fun phrases ;)

But will definitely need design for the final pdf.

I believe their target date to go live is April 11.
Hi Grace

* I will need copy/graphic content asap.
* Clear understanding of date when the designs are to be handed off (working
back from the 11th)
* Also, is this PDF intended to be web-only? or printed as well? Do we have
high res screenshots of everything? I'll need all graphics and copy asap,
please.

Thanks.
OS: Mac OS X → All
Hardware: x86 → All
Friendly ping. There are lots of last minute requests coming in... so I want to make sure we have enough lead time to get this done. Please supply the additional content direction asap. Thanks!
Grace - can I help with this at all?

- i believe this will be going on a site that Jane is working on, which is scheduled to go live 4/12.

- we don't have hi-res screenshots yet - but can start what screenshots we need and update the bug. can i get this to you Wednesday or Thursday?

- the pdf will be in the site and needs to be downloadable and printable.

Jane when do you need the final copy to get it up in the site?
Grace we're ideally looking to start QA on April 6/7. So before then would be the date to aim for the links to the video. For the PDF having this for end of this week / Monday (crazy with Vegas I know) would be needed, as the web dev will start coding on Monday and will need to do the coding for the PDF to open etc.

hi tara. ive uploaded the copy and included screenshots as well. but we definitely need a higher res screenshots. the pdf will be downloadable and potentially printable. let me know how i can help or if i can provide any additional info. we would like to shoot for a final on monday (tuesday the latest). we also like to keep the step1..step2... layout.
Hi Tara. You can also find pdfs. done in the past: http://www.spreadfirefox.com/edutoolkit

not sure if that helps at all but thought we should send if over anyway just in case it can help in the process.
Hey Grace. Going over these now... I'm not 100% clear on what you need from me. And I'm concerned given the timing... creative team is at an offsite tomorrow and we're out of pocket through vegas, etc. I can have another designer potentially jump on this, but I need to have content right away. I am not able to get high-res screenshots on my own, that's an entirely different bug and I'll need to see if S.O. can do these.

I might just not be understanding the bug comments, but we should talk over the phone or in person and figure this out... It's kind of short notice, so I'll do my best.
Depends on: 646949
Try to get this knocked out today with Lee.

* He's going to do simple polish of the attached content using the mozilla.com design language.
* He'll use existing screenshots as FPO, and we can plug the others in when they are ready.
* He's going to create these in "letter" size.
* The PDFs will be flat.
* If there are any other requirements around fonts, etc. please let us know asap.
thank you tara. I think letter size is fine for now. We might need A4 as we look at other markets. But this is fine for EN-US.
Hi folks,
Here are the pages for both Mac and Windows install instructions.
http://intothefuzz.com/leetom/Upgrade/

Once I get the new screenshots, I'll replace the ones in these mockups (all FPO)
Thanks,
Lee
Thanks Lee for the quick turn around.

Grace / Jane -- do these look good to you?
Lee & Tara - thank you for doing this all so quickly.

I think they are fine. The only comment I had was on making the last line about getting more information slightly darker. Were we using a different font color, or does it look lighter as the font is smaller? Either way - I also missed it, please could we make this stand out a little more, or raise it up higher?

thanks again for being super good and fast!
Lee, if you can make that update that'd be great. Otherwise, Can you please send me the working files? I think given the offsite, weekend, and vegas... we might have to hand this off to another designer to complete -- especially as we're still waiting for higher res. screenshots.
Hi Jane and Tara,
I made the update to the "more information" section, pumping it up visually and placing it more prominently on the page (for both versions, of course).

If there will be another designer picking up on this project tomorrow, They can find all of the mockups and the working file here:

http://intothefuzz.com/leetom/Upgrade/Install/
Perfect - thank you Lee. They look great. Tara should I send these to SO? Should I file a bug for them to produce the high res screen shots?

- thanks Lee and Tara. Please advise what would be the next steps from here. We already have the bug for the screenshots: 646949 for SO. what needs to happen with the PDF? should we follow up with another designer? if you can give us a bit more guidance regarding the next steps or what needs to happen to get the pdfs to the final stage, we can continue to follow up with this project. thanks again for all your help and putting this together last minute. cheers G
Yup, bug #646949 is handling the high res screenshots.

Next steps:

* I'll put you in contact with Ty who can help whip this up. He is working out of Toronto, so... there is a time zone difference and he works full time during the day. But he is good and very quick.

* Working files are here: http://intothefuzz.com/leetom/Upgrade/Install/

* Once screenshots are ready, the designer will need to update the files with the appropriate images. He'll need to then compile the pages into PDFs and send your way.
Super - thanks Ty!
