User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 5.1; rv:2.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/4.0 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 5.1; rv:2.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/4.0 Using Firefox 4.0 on Windows (haven't tested Mac), when i log into Gmail, the resizing grip in the lower right corner breaks. Specifically, the grip widget is over-laid on top of the down-arrow scroll button. Not only is this aesthetically unattractive, but it also breaks the functionality of the down-arrow button (it can only be used to resize the window). I am not sure if this is dependent on how one has their Gmail set up, but i have tested this with extensions disabled and it does the same thing on two different machines (one with Vista and one with XP), both when viewing the Inbox (and other folders) and when viewing individual e-mail threads. I also happen to have Gmail pinned as an app tab, but i've tried unpinning and it does the same thing. Problem also persists across restarts. The problem does NOT manifest when i am on the Gmail log-in page — only when i am actually signed in. It also does occur when the window is small enough to have a horizontal scroll bar (whether i'm logged in or not). Please see attached screenshot showing the problem. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Log into Gmail 2. Boom Actual Results: Gripper overlaid onto scroll button Expected Results: Gripper should appear below and independent of scroll button

I'm sorry, i've mistyped a line above: 'It also does occur when the window is small enough...' should be 'It also does NOT occur when the window is small enough...'

After searching for a regression window, i found two pushlogs that may have caused this. In 2011-01-17 there is no resizer: Bad Build:http://hg.mozilla.org/mozilla-central/rev/eb105fe0e41c Good Build:http://hg.mozilla.org/mozilla-central/rev/66addc5c30ca Pushlog:http://hg.mozilla.org/mozilla-central/pushloghtml?fromchange=66addc5c30ca&tochange=eb105fe0e41c In 2010-09-22 there is a resizer and it works: Bad Build:http://hg.mozilla.org/mozilla-central/rev/eec9a82ad740 Good Build:http://hg.mozilla.org/mozilla-central/rev/198709160138 Pushlog:http://hg.mozilla.org/mozilla-central/pushloghtml?fromchange=198709160138&tochange=eec9a82ad740

In response to comment 2, "small enough" means "small enough to have a horizontal scrollbar". The presence of the horizontal scrollbar lifts the bottom of the vertical scrollbar above resize handle, removing the overlap. That said, resizing the window to be smaller isn't a workable solution because GMail requires the window to be very small before it will start going beyond the visible edge of the window.

See my comment on (duplicate) bug 654696 - appears to happen on "framed" pages like Gmail inbox or Android developer - http://developer.android.com/reference/android/database/sqlite/package-summary.html - when not in full-screen mode.

I do not agree with the word "framed". I have framed pages which do not behave the same way as gmail inbox. There should be any div tag property which gmail set that causes the "resizing grip / gripper broken". If you change the gmail style to "basic html" it does not show the error.
