when i try to open up a new tab with any method crtl-T or go into the file and click for a new tab or just clicking the + sign on the tabs part all do nothing. it seems like this has started to occur after the recent patch. but the tabs will still work if i use crtl-link so by clicking on a link with ctrl pressed a new tab will open, other than that nothing else i have found to be wrong.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.open firefox
2.try to use ctrl-T, file > open new tab, click on the +sign for new tab
3.
Actual Results:
nothing happens the window stays as it is and nothing else.

Expected Results:
open a new tab with a untitled page
Can you reproduce the problem in safe mode?

After trying safemode firefox this event didnt happen so im not sure if its some addon doing the damage or something.
Works for me on Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; rv:2.2a1pre) Gecko/20110331 Firefox/4.2a1pre.

You should install the latest version of Firefox:

Try using an empty testing profile. (Don't install any addons into it)

Try disabling all your add-on until you find the culprit!
Based on comment 3, this is most likely an add-on bug.

found that after disabling some addons the issue is resolved.

so something from maybe download managers stuffing up the program.
