I know this bug has been reported before, but I was unable to find a report for Firefox 4.0 specifically. When viewing ANY page with an invalid, untrusted, or self-signed certificate, the two buttons you are shown on the page do nothing.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Visit any page with a certificate signed by an untrusted CA, or an invalid/self-signed certificate.
2. Try to click either button ("Add Exception" or "Get me out of here!")
3. No result.
Actual Results:
The button appears to respond to the click or enter button when selected, but does not open the dialog.
Expected Results:
The usual dialog that allows you to view and accept the certificate should be shown when you click "Add Exception." Sorry, but I've never clicked the "Get me out of here!" button before now, so I'm not sure what should happen there.
Windows 7 x64 SP1. This bug was first noticed in 4.0 beta 12 a few days ago. Got busy and forgot to report. Noticed 4.0 release was out today and updated. Bug still persists.

This is worksforme with Firefox4.0 on win32.
Please try http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Safe+Mode and if that doesn't help create a new, additional test profile http://support.mozilla.com/kb/Managing%20profiles

Thanks for the input. I'm actually not sure why I didn't try safe mode or a new profile before submitting it.

is your problem caused by an addon ?

Actually, yes. Just started my original profile back up and removed the only add-on I had enabled. I forgot it was even installed in the first place, so no loss by removing it. Just for future reference the add-on is called "Ant Video Downloader." The desired functionality was restored immediately after removing it. Thanks for the help (deleting the new profile now) and sorry for reporting a bug without COMPLETELY researching the proper avenues first.

Thank you for your answer. Knowing the broken addons may help with future reports.
And no problem with the reporting, we have really worse reports.

Question: When are these errors going to be addressed?
I am very frustrated by having to copy and paste a URL into Chrome in order to get past your issues.
If it weren't for the fact that FF is so much more robust than Chrome I would have left weeks ago.

Hey, Tom. No reason for the hostility or the bug hijack. If you read every post on here it was resolved by my removing a buggy add-on. How about trying the initial recommendations, such as starting in safe mode or creating a new profile and testing that way? That's how I fixed it. As the status says, it's 'worksforme.'
