Greasemonkey, Scriptish, Stylish, and I'm sure other extensions will have addons types they are adding to the AOM which they'll want the addon compatibility reporter to ignore. I'm working on Scriptish, and I would certainly like to be able to inform the addon compatibility reporter that my addon type should be ignored. I think I can put a patch together, so I'll give it a shot.
