646405 - Multiple blank Firefox 4 windows open, saved tabs & app tabs are lost

The new app tab functionality seems to only work around 50% of the time. Frequently when I close Firefox & ask to save my tabs when I reopen Firefox all these app tabs and previous saved tabs are lost. Also when I open Firefox I get over twenty Firefox windows open, all of which are blank (no open tabs).

Reproducible: Sometimes

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Create App tabs
2. Open some tabs
3. Close Firefox & save current tabs
Actual Results:  
Firefox sometimes restarts without the saved tabs from my previous session. Firefox opens in many windows, all without any tabs loaded.

Expected Results:  
I would like Firefox to open once with my saved app tabs and saved normal browser tabs.

After you hit this, can you make a copy of sessionstore.bak from your profile? I haven't ever had that issue here so haven't been able to reproduce.

Also, if you start in safe mode, does it still happen?

I closed Firefox with four app tabs and two normal browser tabs saved and copied the attached sessionstore.bak.

When I started Firefox I got all the App tabs and normal browser tabs open fine in one Firefox window. I also got a second Firefox window open with no tabs.

I then closed these and restarted in safe mode. In safe mode I got no tabs. I then restarted Firefox again. My app tabs worked but my normal browser tabs were not opened.

In this situation are you able to "restore previous session" from the History menu?

Yes, the "history, recently closed tabs, all closed tabs" worked. Strange that I have to use this option.

This issue was resolved when I upgraded to Firefox 5.
