Please build the page designated in bug 646868.

This page should live within Mozilla.com desktop tab(in the header), at the bottom of the list.

Final name of page is coming.

Header and footer of this page should also be consistent with mozilla.com

I've setup a (mostly empty) template for this page in trunk in r87020.
Blocks: 647896
Regarding the URL, did you have one in mind? I was thinking
mozilla.com/firefox/channel
but then we can also have one for each channel which directs to the same page
mozilla.com/firefox/beta
mozilla.com/firefox/aurora
What about /firefox/next

With both aurora and beta redirecting there.
Steven,

I think we can go ahead and start building. The copy is 90% complete.

We want the url to be www.mozilla.com/firefox/channel with
mozilla.com/firefox/beta
mozilla.com/firefox/aurora
mozilla.com/firefox/next all redirecting to /channel/.
Also, comments from John in bug 646868:

- really feels like there's too much copy here to me. As Mayumi noted in

Bug 647678, getting the product-details library setup to output download buttons for the new channel(s) has to be addressed too. It's assigned to morgamic for now, for him to delegate.
Target Milestone: --- → 2.0
Moved the placeholder page to /firefox/channel/ in r87043.
Curious about the choice of .com v. using .org for this project, just given that a major Q2 project is to move away from .com to .org - does anyone see this as a concern at this point?

Chrissie, it's probably best to keep this with all of the other Firefox pages and move them all at once.
Added some more placeholder content/layout stuff in trunk in r87049. Should give us a place to drop in working email form and download buttons when ready.
On the subject of copy (brought up in comment #5), Matej did another pass at the text...you can follow along in bug 646876 if you want.

We'll post the final version here once it's been approved by Mayumi, but wanted to call it out so you'd know. It's been trimmed down a bit, so it'll have a (slight) affect on the overall page layout.

Thanks!
Is the email form intended to show only the Email input until you click the arrow button, and then show the rest of the form?

I think all the information is meant to be there at all times, but I could be wrong. Tara?
As of https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=646876#c18, the copy for this page is now final. I've reposted that entire comment below so you can see all the final text + Matej's explanatory thoughts.

Steven, let us know if you have any questions. Thanks!

Here's the complete deck again, with the last few changes from the last few
comments. I added the en-US line below the download button for Aurora. If that
doesn't make sense, let me know. Might come down to where it looks best
design-wise.

To comment 12 - Usually we try to keep our email CTA consistent with the drop down menu appearing after the user clicks - however - given we have three lists here, i think it makes sense for the information to be displayed at all times so it's clear to the user what they're doing/signing up for when they opt-in.
Updated copy, added logos, styled download buttons in trunk in r87066.

Still needs:
1. Actual download links
2. Hook up newsletter form (Bug 647242)

Is the "Coming Soon" 'button' under the Beta column intended to be an actual link/button? If so, where should it point? If not, the "Get notified when Beta is ready." text does sound like it could be an action of some kind.
OS: Mac OS X → All

Also, the logos are incorrect.

Beta should be the normal firefox logo, and aurora is being updated.

My understanding is that this will

I don't think so. It should just be a coming soon until phase 2 is ready to go.

If so, where should it point? If not, the "Get notified when Beta
> is ready." text does sound like it could be an action of some kind.
I was thinking at the time that it could link to the newsletter section below--is there a way to make it an anchor tag? I know the page is short, but the other solution is to change the copy to say "Sign up below to be notified when Beta is ready".

Oops. I think this bug should help with download links: 647678
One quick change--Aurora will actually not be en-US only, so we can remove that from this page.
Status: NEW → ASSIGNED
The Final Release download button is now hooked up (r87099) with a real/working download button, including platform detection. Still need the Aurora button.

So, both the Beta and Firefox columns will use the normal Firefox logo?

Tara/Sean--we still the download button for Aurora--ETA on this?

Correct. The Aurora logo has also changed substantially so we'll need to change that too.

Logos updated in trunk in r87110.
The current newsletter sign-up process is a bit confusing. See screencast below
http://screencast.com/t/To7raLONF
I believe Silver Orange is still working on finalizing the email optin. More details in 647242.
From 647242:

"Can we remove the upper part of the page footer? The portion
that includes more ways to connect and the second email opt-in so we only have
one email opt-in on that page?"
Some style tweaks for the newsletter form in r87113.

php error on page
From my last talk with Laura Mesa on Friday, I was told that Sean Martell would be working on updated mockup of this page with the latest logos/wordmarks/download-buttons. Is that accurate? If so, we're waiting on that.
Ok, just talked (in person, yo!) with Mayumi and John Slater and here is the latest conclusion:

- We ARE going to keep the logos in the titles
- We are NOT going to use the icons in the download buttons
- We will update the color of the Aurora download button to purple (still, no icon)

Working on this now.
Updated the styles a bit for the form after you submit (r87149).
Aurora download button is styled purple in r87154.
Awesome looks great, is there anything else needed for this page before it goes live?

Anthony is still working on making the Aurora download button work for non en-US locales (Bug 647678).
what is the link to the staging of this page?
I should check the top of the bug. ignore me!
could the titles for the channels be centered vertically with the logos? My main concern is the Aurora and Beta titles - there seems to be a bit of an offset between them.

+1
Looks great. Just two thoughts from me:

Could we bump the second bullet point under Beta down so it's in line with the second bullets under Aurora and Final Release?

Do we still want to say "Get notified when Beta is ready" even though that doesn't link anywhere?
Fixed vertical alignment of titles in r87158. (thanks)
