This may be the wrong area in which to report my problem. The difficulty I encountered is not site specific. I reported a problem in the past hour with release 4 of Mozilla firefox, which I down loaded yesterday. Since that report I have come to realise that the problem is to do with web pages listed as a result of general searches not being "clickable". In essence, the search throws up the possibilities, but clicking on those possibilities is futile since the action simply gives rise to a black screen and the message "Mozilla Firefox not responding", at which point the only option is to switch over to another browser. This is happening with both Google and Yahoo, so it seems likely that it is a Mozilla problem.

Reproducible: Always
Do you have McAfee SiteAdvisor or AVG Safe Searchinstalled? Does the issue occur if you start Firefox with extensions disabled (Safe Mode) -> http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Safe%20Mode

Sorry I didn't respond earlier. I am indeed still experiencing the problem. My antivirus tool is Bulldog, but whether that is the source of my difficulty I do not know. I mailed them and got some advice to switch off various facets of their tool but to no successful end, I'm afraid. I am reluctant to uninstall and reinstall Firefox 4 now for fear that I will lost my diary/calendar content, but perhaps that is the only possibility remaining open to me at this stage.

Thanks for your interest, which is greatly appreciated.

Kind regards

Damien White

Whiteboard: Have in recent days downloaded latest Firefox. Now no problem with this. Everything seems OK.
This glitch seems to have been ironed out in the latest release of Firefox (4.0.1.)
