Can you attach a Screenshot showing the Issue? Does setting "gfx.direct2d.disabled" to "true" via "about:config" and restarting Firefox show a Difference?
Does setting "gfx.direct2d.disabled" to "true" via "about:config" and restarting Firefox show a Difference? yes, it seems to have stopped the always-crashing/corrupting of Firefox 4
Ok, so this is a D2D Issue against the 270.51 Beta Driver. Does it also happen against the 267.24 Beta and/or 266.58 WHQL Driver too?
Summary: critical graphics crash → [D2D] [NVIDIA] critical graphics crash
I rolled back Video Driver to version 266.58, and it behaved the same; yes
It's normal to have some issues on BETA drivers ;) Can be probably marked as RESOLVED INVALID, because it's driver bug.
virtual manpl: comment 6 indicates it happens with 266.58 which is supposedly whql per comment 5. as for bugs involving third parties, we're trying to move to a system where we submit problems to vendors and track them here instead of simply saying 'not our fault'.
You should rather report it to nVidia ( http://nvidia.custhelp.com/cgi-bin/nvidia_submit.cfg/php/enduser/ask.php ) than here ;) Also don't forget to mention and upload this files "Files that help describe the problem WD-20110409-1850.dmp sysdata.xml Version.txt"
thanks much, but I'm covering ALL bases here... including the ones I've already crossed, in hopes that Mozilla will see that if not for their "bug", I would not have had this much "fun" trying to nail down problems affecting BOTH Firefox and NVidia

Flags: needinfo?(slscibbe)
Whiteboard: FIVE YEARS later, I get a request for more info... well, the OS has been upgraded to Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit and the graphics card has been replaced with an EVGA GTX-760
