Build ID:
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; rv:2.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/4.0

Steps to reproduce:
1. Launch Firefox on a clean profile
2. Open the link:
http://ie.microsoft.com/testdrive/Performance/SantasWorkshop/Default.xhtml

Expected result:
2. On page load, you should hear a sound playing

Actual result:
2. No sound is played
Confirmed on Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; rv:2.2a1pre) Gecko/20110404 Firefox/4.2a1pre

No sound is played.
The audio is mp4. There would have to be wave or webm version for Firefox to play it.

This is basically the equivalent of bug 541286 for audio I think and is therefore presumably equally WONTFIX.
FFx 4.0 plays mp4. This is the background sound in the example (link fetched from the source code): http://ie.microsoft.com/testdrive/Performance/SantasWorkshop/media/song.mp4

Since bug 541286 was set to WONTFIX several changes were made (see comments)
Gecko doesn't support mp3 or mp4 as <audio> tag, only ogg is supported.
mp4 might be supported via plugin but a plugin isn't used for <audio> or <video>
