2001010908 SEA linux Select a range of unread messages in Inbox. Hit Delete-button to delete them. Then use "File /empty trash" on mailnews menuline. Result: The messages that were registered as unread when they landed in trash, will be indicated as being x number unread messages in trash..."forever". This state remains untill you actually click on the trash-folder. First then does trashbin realize it's actually empty, and the number indicating unread-count quickly vanishes.

Is it really a duplicate? Bug 59871 is about IMAP and has a IMAP-only patch attached, while this bug is about POP.
Summary: delete unread messages: trash keeps count of unread after emptied. → POP: delete unread messages: trash keeps count of unread after emptied.

I still see this *with POP* on Build ID 2001102215. Morover, it seems that the FE display of number of messages in the POP Trash folder in almost never updated - neither when I delete messages, nor when I amty the Trash. P.S. I have a suspicion that I saw something similar on Local Folders Trash several times, but not sure.
New in build 2001102421 Linux: upper left pane in alternate 3-pane (haven't tested the dafault) no longer show bold count in ANY folders.

Haven't seen this for long. Resolving as WFM.
