My email account kent@caspia.com has as user name 'kent@caspia.com' and not 'kent' With the new account wizard UI, this is not detected, and I have to go in and manually set the user name in the server settings.
Depends on: 549045
Please give the full steps of interaction (each click), with results (what you see).
Summary: User email accounts with domain appended are not detected → Usernames with domain are not detected
Compare bug 647046
Summary: Usernames with domain are not detected → Username = email address not detected
I create a new profile using Miramar 3.3 Alpha 3 on Windows 7 (64 bit).

"Mail Account Setup": I enter Your name (Kent James), Email address (kenttest@caspia.com), and Password. Continue

"Looking up configuration ... " various entries

"Configuration found by trying common server names"

"Incoming: IMAP, caspia.com, STARTTLS"
"Outgoing: SMTP, mail.caspia.com, STARTTLS"
"Username: kenttest"

Popup window: "Secure connection failed, caspia.com:993 uses an invalid security certificate ... (Error code: ssl_error_bad_cert_domain)" I can choose "View Certificate" or "Cancel", I choose "Cancel"

Now I choose "Create Account"

"Checking password"

Popup window: "Add Security Exception ... location caspia.com:143" I choose Confirm Security Exception.

"Checking password..." again. After around 10 seconds, mail account wizard window closes, and I get the "System Integration" popup window which is unrelated.

At this point, the inbox for the new account is selected. After a few seconds, I get "login to server caspia.com failed". When I choose "Enter New Password" it says "Enter your password for kenttest@caspia.com" It should say "kenttest@caspia.com@caspia.com"

I enter the correct password anyway. It tries again to load the inbox, and fails again, and again I get "Login to server caspia.com failed". This time I Cancel.

Going to Account Settings/kenttest@caspia.com/Server Settings, "User Name" is kenttest, but it should be "kenttest@caspia.com" Setting it to the correct value, I get a new Mail Server Password Required prompt. Entering the correct password, I can then download email successfully.

I would be happy to setup a test user account for you on this server (which is hosted with a large US internet service provider) if you need it.

That's the bug. The wizard should check the login, and only close, if the login works, and then set up that config. Something is going wrong there.

Yes, I think that would be useful.
This bug is not getting any love, but it is a regression from tb 3.1 for a certain class of email account (of which I am one).

BenB, would you work on this if I gave you an account? Though I did that, but if not please ask again. It is probably pretty easy to fix for someone familiar with the code.

A protocol log (<https://wiki.mozilla.org/MailNews:Logging>, with description what happened at which time in the log) would be useful.

I might take a look, if you give me an account, but I don't have much time at the moment.

rkent, can you drum up a log?
