More likely, it's the newest mail. Thus, I suggest changing how Thunderbird searches folders to new-old from old-new. Also, changing the search order will make the listing sequence more fluent: The window starts empty while stacking new filtered items below the first result. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Open filter search of a folder 2. Type a name that is often used 3. Press enter Actual Results: In the relevant results sequence, the last mail is shown first, while newer mails stack the list above. Expected Results: Reverse the search sequence: Search the newest mails first.
