Details

From Bugzilla Helper: User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; WinNT4.0; en-US; 0.7) Gecko/20010109 BuildID: 2001010901 While a page is loading, you can not edit the contents of the address bar. I have to stop the page, and then edit the contents. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: enter a url, while it is loading try and type in a different URL Actual Results: uneditable Expected Results: editable
This is the case in IE5 on Windows98 too. Since you can't load two different pages simultaneously in the same window you *need* to push stop in order to go elsewhere. This is not a bug, but a feature in my opinion.
I don't see this bug in Mozilla 0109 Win98 (or in IE, for that matter). The insertion point isn't very visible, though (bug 54153).
The concept I can understand, but HW's comment also makes sense. To the Reporter's credit though, if you put in a URL you should be able to press <Enter> and simply have the browser stop the loading for you. On the other hand, this WFM on Mac OS 01-11-04 build, and NT 01-11-04.
