This is my recent attempt to create a sitemap of active content on mozilla.org (meaning the content left over after removing the legacy pages). It is not complete, but it does give a sense of the scale of the active content on the site (and some of this could also probably be migrated to reduce things further).
This wiki page also gives a sense of the scale of the legacy content on the site. It also isn't complete but covers the bulk of the remaining pages that are being considered for archiving or migrating.

For background, here are some notes from a conversation I had with John earlier this year about the IA for the merged site.
To deal with the range of different types of content, we could arrange things into sections with each having it's own set of navigation links. So:
* mozilla.org/firefox would have Firefox specific links: Desktop, Mobile, Add-ons, etc.
* mozilla.org/thunderbird would have Thunderbird specific links
* mozilla.org would have general Mozilla links: About, Community, Projects, Contribute
* We wouldn't need a section for mozilla-europe.org content since the Firefox content would move into the Firefox section and the other content will remain on the Mozilla Europe site
The sections would share similar designs and layouts with differences including the navigation links and perhaps also different colors and illustration styles.
We tried this out with the mozilla.org/drumbeat page that was based on a variation of the mozilla.com template from the time. This has the same page layout but different color scheme, nav links and illustration style.
(Note that we're no longer thinking of also integrating Drumbeat content into the merged site and this mozilla.org/drumbeat page will go away soon, but it gives an example of this idea).
This certainly isn't the only way to create a merged IA, but should be considered. Please feel free to add any other ideas of suggestions here to the bug.
