For some time, there has been a discussion about having a FAQ + a support email somewhere on the Spark website, so I think it's time to file a bug about it. Here is a copy of a question (asked on SUMO) forwarded by Caitlin: "How does Share your Spark work? The challenges offered should be clearer in detail. I know I get a share whenever someone scans my QR code, but I find that looking for other user's codes to be tedious and unrewarding. I only found one other user on Spark and the personal site did not contain his/her QR code. You should make the Spark game easier to play. Maybe include a tutorial video or a manual, or a FAQ page." --- TBG, - Have you received the FAQ content that Caitlin mentionned? - We need to know your recommendations about where to put it, what the page design is, etc.
TBG recommends: "FAQ should live above the About Us section on both mobile & desktop." Alternatively we can put it in the bottom footer and add "Help" next to Privacy, Legal and Report Trademark Abuse. 1. How do I earn badges? Share your unique URL via Facebook, Twitter, email, text message and more. When someone clicks on your unique URL they will be directed to Spark and reminded to add your username during their login process. This gives you credit for sharing Spark and if they click to download Firefox for Android, you may also receive a badge depending on where and when you shared Spark. You also have a unique QR code that behaves the same way, but is best for phone-to-phone sharing. 2. How do I boost my Spark? You can join our global map and earn a special badge if you boost your spark. You can do this by tapping "Locate Me" and Spark will find the nearest city to you. If you can't be found can can may manually select the city closest to your location from the drop-down list. The second boost you perform is adding the username or email of the person that sent you Spark, or you can select "I started my own Spark." 3. Need help? If you have a question or need support, please contact email@example.com
I should also mention that due to time constraints, we will not be localizing the FAQ content.
Thanks for the FAQ. Claudia, I think we need an additional FAQ section explaining that users must log in on desktop if they want to change their user settings. Please see bug 642590.
We agree - Caitlin + Mozilla can provide.
(In reply to comment #4) > We agree - Caitlin + Mozilla can provide. Caitlin is out until Wednesday and code freeze is tomorrow if we can't get the copy in by the end of today, this bug will miss this release
Fixed in this commit: https://github.com/mozilla/spark/commit/92830dc68518ee3f30485918cb65a346f4e13910 The specified FAQ has been added just before the "About Us" section on the following pages: - Desktop logged-out homepage - Desktop logged-in homepage - Mobile user pages - Mobile landing pages for iphone and non-firefox
I see TBG didn't provide you with copy. Do you still need this from me?
