I suggest a new feature, that would show - as a kind of mouse-over, for example when locating the mouse above the blue arrow that symbolizes that a mail has been answered, when a mail has been answered to.

I think some IMAP servers keep track of reply dates (as can be seen in the provider's web interface), but Thunderbird isn't recording those right now.
Thus, it would imply to either collect this information (e.g., along with message IDs as is pending in bug 66274 for replies to a message) or to request it from the server if made available (wouldn't work for local mail).
