Problem: When MPL 2 ships, we are going to need to update quite a few pages on www.mozilla.org. We would like to do that work in advance, and have it available for people (e.g. Mitchell and Harvey) to review. Suggested solution: That means a working server somewhere which shows it. Do we have an existing staging server for www.mozilla.org? If so, can we borrow it for a few weeks for this project? If not, how hard would it be to put another one up? Load would be minimal. We would also need an SVN branch; I'm happy to create that if I have the relevant permissions, but I am not sure I do. If I don't, someone else will need to create one (unless there is an existing one already used for staging). Or is there another solution to the problem? Gerv
Not IT, the mozilla.org folks can help you with this :)

Gerv, If the existing mozilla.org server/setup won't do, let us know/punt back. I can throw up something quickly for your branch and password protect it if need be.
I don't think it needs to be private, it just needs to not be "the" website while we're working on it. I don't have the faintest clue what the existing staging server setup looks like or how it works- is it documented somewhere?

I don't have the faintest clue what the existing > staging server setup looks like or how it works- is it documented somewhere? I'm not a 100% sure about that, which is why I moved the bug. mozilla.com and mozilla.org are largely not managed by IT and most of the stuff is automated (staging and pushes to production). Someone on the mozilla.org team will be able to answer these questions much better.
> Do we have an existing staging server for www.mozilla.org? Yes. http://www-stage.mozilla.org/ The repository is at http://viewvc.svn.mozilla.org/vc/projects/mozilla.org/branches/staging/ If you need access to it, please feel free to file a bug and CC me for a voucher. On a semi-related note, can we use this opportunity of updating the content for the MPL 2 as a way to clear out no longer active pages (the upcoming mozilla.com/.org merge is going to require that we remove much of the legacy content on the site)? For instance, this presentation in the MPL directory looks like it was last touched in 2002: https://www.mozilla.org/MPL/roadshow/ Note that anything removed from the production site will still be available on the www-archive.mozilla.org site (if you remove a page, people are automatically redirected when they try to access the original URL). http://www-archive.mozilla.org/MPL/
I appear to have access to check in to the staging branch, so resolving this as FIXED. Gerv
