User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:2.0.1) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/4.0.1 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:2.0.1) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/4.0.1 Everytime I close Firefox and restart it, i get the home page and the option to restore the previous session. Moreover the option (window) to save&quit does not appear at all and the only window that get when i close firefox is the conformation box to close all tabs. I have already reinstalled the whole system (clean install) but this has not changed the way firefox closes. Hope this explains the situation. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Open Firefox 2.Close Firefox 3.Reopen Firefox with message to restore previous session Actual Results: It happens everytime when I open firefox Expected Results: Firefox should prompt to save tabs before closing and should open without the restore option on restart.

This behavior was changed in Firefox 4. Changing "browser.showQuitWarning" to true in about:config should bring back the save and quit warning.

As you describe it, it's normal behavior. Sessions are always saved (that's why there's no prompt anymore). That's why you always see the option on the homepage (if you're using about:home at least, otherwise in Firefox->History).
