Details

Several users on support.mozilla.com have reported connectivity problems after upgrading to 4.0 that haven't been fixed by our documentation. I chatted with a few affected users to check running processes, network configuration, ipfw configuration, and files in use by Firefox (via lsof -p pid). The only connecting thread was that the affected users had MacKeeper antivirus running. I don't have this software (or even a Mac), so I can't test this myself. I have e-mailed some affected users to ask for specific version numbers of MacKeeper but haven't yet received replies. We should see if we can find an affected machine to troubleshoot firsthand, as well as test the upgrade process from 3.6.x to 4.0 while the latest MacKeeper is installed. I'll post more information from SUMO in this bug when I get it.
I'm not seeing any SUMO reports regarding this issue on current Firefox versions. If anyone reproduces the issue or finds new reports, please reopen this bug.
