I don't know if this is a bug per se, but when I'm composing new mail if I type
in a line of text and then delete part of it, a trail of 'dots' is left. I
cannot reproduce this in the text fields of the browser, so...
I'm using build 2001010901 on Windows 98.
To reproduce, start a new message, type in a string of whatever, like
"l;kajsdlksdjflk", for instance, and then use the backspace key to delete it,
and it should leave a trail of little dots where the characters were. To make
the dots go away, you can space forward and then delete back to where you were...
Can anyone confirm this?

I did a little more 'testing', and found that it is only the letter 'f' that is
causing this problem(?)

I can`t reproduce this on win2k / build 2001010620
If non can reproduce this you should try a new driver for your Graphic Board.
I'm not seeing this on Windows 2000, build 2001011204.

hmm...ok, I wasn't sure if this was a problem with the program or with my
system...I don't have another system here at work to try it on, but I'll try it
on my machine at home tonight...

Win98SE - Build 2001011204
WFM - Suggest installing the latest video driver(s).

I can see what the reporter's talking about using jan12 commercial trunk build
with win98. The top of the f sticks around in the message compose window
(happens in a blank editor page, too) until a refresh. It's pretty trivial.
Marking this verified. It really should be a WONTFIX resolution, but in the
interest of less email notifications, I'm just going to verify it in the
worksforme state.

Why shouldn't we fix this?
