tbpl.m.o has been broken for tryserver for two days, even though the fix only involves removing seven characters, because despite IT having access to tbpl.m.o and having people available 24/7, they have neither instructions for updating nor any idea that they should or when they should.

That means that Markus and Ehsan can never be allowed to ride the same bus or airplane, and also cannot be allowed to both be gone for days at a time, which is not an ideal situation.
Should this be a Server Ops bug?

My theory is that it shouldn't be, that I'm filing on someone who has access (which, I hear today narrows it down to either Ehsan or Ehsan unless Ehsan does it) to have him give IT the information they need to make them willing to do updates, rather than filing on IT to have them forcibly extract the information they need. Though now that I put it that way, it does sound more like one of my bugs, "Have an IT person in Toronto corner Ehsan so he can't get away, and make him tell them how to do emergency updates of tbpl.m.o." :)
Depends on: 652569
Summary: Ensure that IT has instructions for updating tbpl, and the willingness to use them → Ensure that Releng and IT have a clear set of instructions for updating tbpl
instructions are now here (for releng): https://intranet.mozilla.org/Build:Tools:TBPL and that link will be passed along to IT to put wherever they like to keep instruction sets.

These instructions are accurate, and to the point! Thanks to Lukas for putting them on the wiki while I was actively ignoring my bugmail. :-)
