User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.6; rv:2.0.1) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/4.0.1 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.6; rv:2.0.1) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/4.0.1 I have my MacBook Pro set to hibernate rather than standby ("sudo pmset -a hibernatemode 5"), and when I start it back up after hibernating, Firefox often crashes. It doesn't crash every time, but it does roughly 2/3 of the time. The crash reports (see attachment for IDs) don't seem to follow a consistent pattern, though they probably most frequently occur within the JIT code (this could, of course, just reflect where Firefox is spending it's compute time, rather than any particular crashiness of that code). The crashes may or may not be related to which pages I have open - I haven't taken the time to determine this. I do tend to always have Google Calendar, Google Reader, GMail, and Twitter open in app tabs, though the rest of my tabs, if any, vary. This crash started occurring partway through the Firefox 4 betas. Looking at about:crashes, it seems to have started occurring pretty consistently around beta 6. about:crashes reports that since beta 6, I have had 92 crashes, and while not 100% of them are related to this resume-from-hibernate issue, nearly all of them are. Additionally, some crashes were not caught by the Crash Reporter (I got the standard OS X "Firefox has quit unexpectedly" dialog), so more crashes have occurred than were reported. One other thing to note is that on ~3/4 of these crashes, when I restart Firefox it marks my places.sqlite file as corrupted. If I quit Firefox, delete the new places.sqlite, rename places.sqlite.corrupt to places.sqlite, and restart Firefox, then it works fine with my old db. I'm not sure why this would be, but it's quite consistent. Reproducible: Sometimes Steps to Reproduce: 1. Be on OS X, and set your machine to hibernate (instead of using standby): "sudo pmset -a hibernatemode 5" 2. Have Firefox open with several tabs. 3. Hibernate your machine. 4. Resume your machine. Actual Results: Firefox crashes. Expected Results: It doesn't. I'm running OS X 10.6.7

Of the crash IDs I checked they are all different....a lot of them have bugs reported already.... Does the issue still occur if you start Firefox in Safe Mode? http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Safe+Mode How about with a new, empty profile? http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Basic%20Troubleshooting#w_8-make-a-new-profile
Crash Signature: [@ _dispatch_cache_cleanup2 ] [@ nsCOMPtr_base::assign_from_qi | nsDocShell::FindChildWithName ]
Reporter -> Are you still experiencing this issue with Firefox 7? Have you tried safe mode or a new profile?
This no longer appears to be happening in Firefox 8.0 (for n=2), so I'm going to mark it resolved.
