From Bugzilla Helper: User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; WinNT4.0; en-US; 0.7) Gecko/20010109 BuildID: 2001010901 When changing the preferences under the View menu to turn off My Sidebar, Personal Toolbar, or Taskbar, and the browser is closed normally, the bars still reappear when Mozilla is started next. The setting is forgotten. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: Start Mozilla. Go to View/My Sidebar to turn it off. Go to View/Toolbars and hide any toolbars there. Close Mozilla. Open Mozilla, and the bars are back! Actual Results: The bars reappear after Mozilla was restarted. Expected Results: Previous versions of Mozilla remembered the settings and restarted with the bars hidden.

WFM with win2k and build 2001010620 Reporter: have you tried a new profile ? (Please delete User50, registry.dat and c:\winnt\mozregistry.dat) ? I saw this with a corrupt profile.

Looks like Matthias was correct. Apparently, the profile got corrupted at the time of the upgrade from Mozilla 0.6 to 0.7. Simply deleting mozregistry.dat on its own had no effect. I deleted the registry.dat from my profile directory (under Application Data/Mozilla). The next time I started Mozilla, I was propted to import my Netscape profile again. After doing this, the Toolbar settings started saving properly. It was not necessary to delete allt he files in my profile, just the registry.dat file. The old profile was still there in a different directory, so I was able to retrieve some information (Bookmarks, mail, etc.) from the old profile before deleting it.
