User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; rv:2.0.1) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/4.0.1 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; rv:2.0.1) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/4.0.1 Firefox 4 is having occasional problems in Silverlight plugin while Silveright is reading data from web service (.asmx). About every 10th requests ends with following error (returned by web service): Request format is unrecognized for URL unexpectedly ending in '/$metadata'. This problem is in Firefox only, I have tested this on other browsers, and it is working fine. According to forums on net, it is quite common ... I am using Silverlight 4, having installed the most recent version of Silverlight plugin. Web service is running on ASP.NET 4.0. Reproducible: Sometimes I have tried recommended solutions, like to add ?WSDL to the end of URL (e.g. http://www.somedomain.com/webservice.asmx?WSDL), modified web.config file (.NET 4.0): <webServices> <protocols> <add name="HttpGet"/> <add name="HttpPost"/> <add name="AnyHttpSoap"/> </protocols> </webServices> Nothing helped for Firefox. Other browsers (IE, Opera, Chrome) are without any problems.
