While doing an extensive search for a particular web site, the search string returns a long list of results.  Upon selecting one of those results to view in the browser, the search results and search string are wiped out and the view is reset to defaults.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Open history
2.Do a search in "This month"
3.Select one result to view

Actual Results:  
Automatic reset of all displays

Expected Results:  
Should save last search display until reset, changed or another category is selected, even if program closed.

This problem makes it impossible to use the search function as intended, or at least expected.  That, in turn, makes it impossible to be productive in one's search efforts.

you can't do a search in "this month", searches are in history or in bookmarks, not limited to a timeframe (as of now)

Could you update to Firefox 4 and check if you can reproduce still?
