User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; Intel Mac OS X 10_6_7; en-us) AppleWebKit/533.21.1 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.0.5 Safari/533.21.1
Build Identifier: Firefox 4.0
After upgrading to Firefox 4.0, movie files on my website do not display correctly, they are cut off at the top and the starting image does not load automatically (you have to hit the "play" arrow and then the movie starts with no first image). A dotted line around each movie shows you the full size of the image, and how much is cut off. Earlier version of Firefox was perfect.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Go to my website in Firefox 4.0. Happens every time.
2.
3.
Actual Results:
Quicktime movies do not display correctly, see my description above.
Expected Results:
Firefox 4.0 should display the full image just as it did in earlier Firefox. Also, the first image of the movie should load, before you "Play" the movie by clicking on the arrow.
My computer is a new MacBook Pro, Mac OS X 10.6.7

Video is the same in FF 3.6, 4 and 6.0a1 for me. Please attach a screenshot showing the correct and incorrect views
Version: unspecified → 4.0 Branch
Look at same web page in Google Chrome or Safari to see the full size movie file. A dotted line in FF 4 indicates the full size (empty space at top shows what is clipped off). Also, the first image of the movie file should load automatically.
This is the CORRECT way the movie file should load (compare to incorrect which I just posted). You see the full image, not clipped off at top. (In FF 4, all QT movie files on all 10 pages of my website are clipped in same way. Website was created in iWeb.)
Are you working on this bug? It's a BIG problem for anyone using Quicktime files on websites created in iWeb! All my friends do. Everyone has same problem. I even tried reloading all my files further down the page, nothing works. You can see part of every file is cut off at the top!

I am not seeing this issue on Windows, so this may be a Mac specific bug. Working with QA to get someone with a Mac to take a look.
It happens on all Macs--I tested it on 2 new Macs at the Apple store yesterday.
Why are my files clipped off at the top in Firefox only? They are perfect in Chrome and Safari. Can you find someone with a Mac to take a look at this problem?

Ever confirmed: true
I can confirm on FF12 on Mac. I've attached a video to make it easier to see the cropping.

To clarify, this issue occurs on FF4-12 on Mac, and does NOT happen on Windows FF.

More notes: dragging a .MOV file directly into the browser displays the entire frame correctly, however as soon as you embed it using the object tag on a page, the top of the frame is cropped.

I can still repro this bug in Nightly 17. The QT videos on kathydrasher.com all have a white bar in Firefox, but not Chrome.
However, the QT videos on the following website look identical in Firefox and Chrome:

Chris,
If you inspect the element you'll see that on kathydrasher.com, the file is using the <object> tag. On bigfloridacountry.com, the files are using the <embed> tag. It's the object tag that causes the issue.
I am still seeing the issue in 16.0.2 Mac OS X 10.8.2.
