In a previous life - long long ago my main job was setting up schedulers and batching job using CA workload/ Autosys - so feel free to ping me with any question.

The best way to have a successful migration from your current cron based solution is repeating the switch on a specific env. Once you're happy with the way your specific environment does the switch from cron to the chosen solution. Proceed to stage (and see many things you've missed ).

Preparation and repeating are keys to make production changes like this work.
