Are you trying to use your own sync server, or the default mozilla ones? My preliminary guess is that this is a firewall problem, but can you paste any interesting parts of about:sync-log here? Thanks

Please follow the sync log instructions here: http://philikon.wordpress.com/2010/11/12/sync-in-firefox-4-0-beta-7/ and save the log to a file, and attach it to this bug. That's the only way we can figure out what's going on for you. Thanks!

Summary: Persistently getting the error while syncing → Sync error, and cannot retrieve quota information
Hi Toby I am using the default sync server. Hi Richard, Please find the attached Logs and other docs that might help you to resolve the issue. (All the files are available in the attached ZIP file).
Let me know if there anything else, I can help you with.. Thanks...

You've hit Bug 638301, which should be fixed in Firefox 5. That bug, however, is related to mis-handling of recovery after a problem, and the log is truncated before it gives any indication of what the original issue might be. I suggest you try Prefs > Sync > Reset Sync, and see if that gets you moving. If that solves the quota issue I'll dupe this to Bug 638301.

Hi Richard, Just to give you more detail on the Sync setup what I am using: I use Firefox in 3 different PC's. PC 1 - Firefox 3.6.17 (Windows XP Pro 32 Bit) PC 2 - Firefox 3.6.17 (Windows 7 Pro 32 Bit) Laptop - Firefox 4.0.1 (Windows 7 Ultimate 64 Bit) I did the Reset Sync in my laptop. After doing Reset Sync also I am getting the same issue in Laptop. Attached is the full log that was generated during this Reset Syn activity. Do I need to perform Reset Sync from all the computers?
