track community involvement: how many test cases did each person run? Who ran the most test cases? who found the most failed tests? who commented the most on test cases
A Pivotal Tracker story has been created for this Bug: http://www.pivotaltracker.com/story/show/13024347
Hi Cameron, I'd like to do an even more minimal implemenation of this -- I'd like to be able to see a list of all MozTrap users and either their last login date or date they last did any sort of action in MozTrap. Is this something where you could talk with me to give me some pointers? I am willing to try to write it but it would probably help to have advice. Thanks!
Hi Liz-- I would be happy to chat with you about this. Last login and date joined are in the db, so we could show that easily on the summary line for each user. Last action may be harder. We don't keep an "action log" per se. Each table records who modified/created each row and the time. But, that would be an expensive operation to query each table looking for their last action. However, perhaps it's do-able to show in the user details. We could just decide to query certain tables like cases, suites, runs, results, etc for that user. it might not be that expensive of a query.
Cameron, ok! I am interested in getting something into place so that we can put MozTrap data into Baloo , so maybe last action isn't as important as having something that we define as a "contribution" and a datestamp on it. Probably better to give you a call or chat on IRC about this when I get back from PyCon!
Hey Liz-- Sounds good. Yeah, ping me when you get back and we can work something out.
Hey Liz-- I have just started learning about New Relic. I think this might be a fantastic solution for this kind of data. I don't really know HOW to use it, yet, but it looks very promising. And would likely be an easy win for this type of data.
Mass-closing remaining MozTrap bugs as WONTFIX, due to 1) the Mozilla-hosted instance being decommissioned (see https://wiki.mozilla.org/TestEngineering/Testrail), and, for now, 2) the still-up code archived at its GitHub page: https://github.com/mozilla/moztrap (we'll decide what's next for that, in the near future).
