I created my status report using the 2001011204 NT build. Everything seemed fine. After shutting down and starting up again, I had to edit the document. When I started inserting characters or deleting characters in individual items of a bullet list, large numbers of spaces started getting added to my lines. For example, if I had: "This is a test" and I started typing after test, it would suddenly change the line to something like: "This is a test of this bug" I don't see any obvious pattern.
nominating for nsbeta1 because it's hard to edit a document when I have to go back and delete all of these new spaces.

joe I suspect this is a dup of one of your bugs

I will attach a sample file for this. In the file I'm going to attach, look at the 2nd bullet that starts with "David". In the very last sentence, look for "And he did some performance". Put the cursor right before the 'p' in performance. Then type "test". You will see bug 65615 as well, but notice that extra spaces get added to the rest of the bullet.
this is indeed a dup. working on it...

Joe--is this a duplicate of bug #43033?
*** Bug 69079 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. ***
Here are the steps for reproducing this bug (from bug #69079 by shrir): 1 Open Composer 2 Add a few items to a bulleted list 3 Keep the last item blank (do not enter any text and just leave the bullet there) 4 Save the File and Reopen in Composer 5 Now, click with mouse in the last (empty) bullet item 6 Press the BACKSPACE key on keyboard (expecting that the bullet item gets deleted and cursor goes to the earlier item's last character) 7 Observe that as soon as you hit Backspace, the last item shifts down by a line and cursor stays there. Pressing Backspace again brings the last item back to where it was and moves the caret to the last-but-one item's first character.

pushing off ws work to moz0.9.1 since it is not ready for prime time. Interested parties should check out bug 65557, which has the patches. We are getting pretty close here.

Oh God ! This is showing something different now (0514 trunk on windoz). I used kathy's testcase(2001-02-19 08:43). What I see is..after step6 , hitting backspace once does nothing..hitting it again does nothing..then hitting backspace the third time moves the caret to the earlier item (keeping the last item intact). The fireball of death is rolling back again :) . reopening

Ok, removing whitespace from status. I think this is something else (just a bug in the deletion code). Setting to 092 for now. Might get pulled back.

This bug report has degraded. The original bug reported is definitely fixed. We need to close this and open a new bug on the seperate issue. I filed 80880 on the new bug and am closing out this bug.
