Details

Pressing RETURN after typing search criteria in search messages should start the search. One shouldn't have to go to the mouse for this quick action. Also, hitting TAB after typing the search criteria should tab to the <search> button. Then one could hit return to start the search.
I will look for them, but I believe we already covered both your points in other bugs. We have an extensive list of existing filter/search ui bugs

No bug 49474 is about accidental closing of the entire dialogue (this possibly affects all dialogues) by hitting RETURN, even if OK button doesn't have focus. This bug is about the need to start the search by hitting return, and also the ability to tab into the Start Search button and then hitting return to start the search.
