Cameron Dawson added a comment in Pivotal Tracker: Eric: I think this is done already, right? Your field specific filtering seems to handle this.

Eric Meyer added a comment in Pivotal Tracker: No, it currently only searches the name field. I think that was because of a platform issue? You'd have to ask Carl. It should work the same way in the UI, however.

Cameron Dawson added a comment in Pivotal Tracker: It actually supports name, step and result. If we add searching by description, I'd say we were done with this. Filtering by user handled by user filtering in a separate story.

Cameron Dawson added a comment in Pivotal Tracker: I should clarify: in most objects, it's the name field only. but in test cases, it does support the step and expected.

Carl Meyer added a comment in Pivotal Tracker: So at this point, this story really just means "add filtering by description"? On which types of objects? Can we get the title/description clarified?

Cameron Dawson added a comment in Pivotal Tracker: After thinking about this, I'm going to change this story to embrace the word "search." I don't think we necessarily need filtering on the description field. If people ask for it in the future, then we'll consider it. I think what people may end up wanting would be a "text search" across all text fields. So that you can "google" within CC to find everything with the word "archive" or whatever. This would search all text fields. So this probably becomes a much larger / harder story. I'm going to postpone this past 1.0 and see how much demand we get for it. Our filtering is great, and really may handle everything people would want. But I find myself, in Pivotal Tracker, using the search field a lot, and I find myself appreciating that it doesn't specify a field.
