Browser does not render page correctly or completely when page containes
relative urls ( http:/../some_relative_url) and those urls are contained in a table.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
make a web page that access some relative urls, maybe some jpeg images

Actual Results: the page doe not completely render. This problem has existed in
all versions of mozilla I have tried, which is every milestone and some nightly
builds.

Expected Results: Should follow relative urls
Reporter do you have a testcase we can test this bug on?
'http:/../some_relative_url' is not a relative url nor is it a valid url. A
testcase would be great so that we can tell whether this is a mozilla problem or
a problem with the page.
I tried to create a testcase but to no avail. Reporter: Please make a testcase
so we can take this off the uncomfirmed radar. Thank you.
In investigating this bug reporter has found that malformed relative urls are
not follwed in mozilla as they are in IE5 or netscape 4.x browsers. I have added
a url above so that this may be investigated and tested. A malformed url such as
http:/./stlouis-shopper.com does work in IE and NS 4.x but not in mozilla. While
it is the malformedness of the url that is wrong, many sites have the same
problem allowing them to work in browsers other than mozilla. Can't mozilla
correct these malformed url's as do other browsers?
http:/./stlouis-shopper.com does not work for me on windows w/ nc4.76 nor does
it work w/ windows and ie5.5

the fact that some browsers handle a poor form url is not my problem, i suggest
we envagelize against those sites.

Summary: Browser does not follow relative urls when in tables → Browser does not follow relative urls when in tables (http:/../)
A good example of this bug can be found at 'http://www.servicemerchandise.com'.
Many links in the bottom two frames (at least as of 2/16/01) begin with
'http:../'. I know this is a horribly malformed URL format, but it is supported
in IE 4 and NS 4.73. Could we just do a check to treat a url as relative if it
begins with 'http:./', 'http:../', 'http:/./', or 'http:/../'? Not sure if this
would catch all cases, or if this is just too ugly a hack to consider, but I
think this is a 'feature' that should eventually be supported.
In IE 5.5, the links show valid URLs, with N6 RTM, the URLs show as http://...
