Crash Data

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9.2) Gecko/20100115 Firefox/3.6 ( )
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9.2) Gecko/20100115 Firefox/3.6 ( )

Several sites (mostly financial) crash Firefox soon after I sign in. The page barely comes up and then it's gone and the browser crashes. Although I am using LastPass password add-on, the problem occurs even if I don't use it or even if I disable it. The problem occurs both with FX 3.6 and 4.01 and it started roughly two weeks ago. My other computer with Vista OS, does not seem to have any problem.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Signing in to the same URL sites (so far 4 sites)
2.
3.

Actual Results:
The browser crashes as described above.

Expected Results:
The browser should not crash.

I do not have XP SP3 or Netframe 3.5 installed on this computer (with XP OS).

Which sites? Did you submit crash reports? What are the crash ids? See http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Firefox%20crashes?s=crash+report&as=s

Here is the latest crash report:
ID: 82fb0b65-cee5-47b5-b401-060d62110513
Signature: fastcopy_I

The sites include among others Target's redcard creditcard; banks such as Suntrust and Iberia.

The reason I marked it security sensitive because all the sites are financial related. This problem might be a result of their security protocals.

Do you have Java installed? Which update version? Note that Java is currently at update 25 and anything less is a security issue.

Yes Bob, you're correct. The last crash was on FX 4.0.1 which I reinstalled since it did not seem to matter to my problem. Both FX 3.6 and 4.0 crash the same way on certain sites. And also yes to your question on Java 6: I have update 25.
Do you use Adblock Plus and/or Download Statusbar Extesnions, too?

Per http://arm.in/quA there seem to be Correlations to certain Versions of those Extensions.
LastPass and Ghostery are the only extension I use. I tried to run with them disabled but it made no difference on the sites I have trouble with.

Reporter -> Are you still experiencing this issue with the latest version of Firefox 5? Does the issue occur with the latest nightly? http://nightly.mozilla.org/
Yes I am having the same problem with FX 5.0 and Java update 26

Can you provide steps to reproduce the issue?
This problem occurs only on one XP computer and only on Target's Red Card site. By now I'm beginning to believe that it is a complex problem involving the computer, the operating system, and Fire Fox. This is what happens:
1. go to Target.com and click on Red Card.
2. go to manage my Red Card
3. clik on "sign in"
4. crash.
Please try disabling https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/lastpass-password-manager/ to see if that resolves your crashing issue. I am willing to bet that extension might be a factor.
It looks as if you did that in Comment 8 but it looks as if that did not resolve the issue.

To everyone who tried to help with this problem:
Thanks for your help and it seems that installing FF 5.01 solved the problem. (I uninstalled all previous versions and also the Profile before installing FF 5.01) So far so good, I have not had a crash since the installation (two weeks ago). Thanks again
Tamas
