User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 5.1; rv:2.0.1) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/4.0.1 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 5.1; rv:2.0.1) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/4.0.1 selecting a recently used folder at the bottom of the "edit bookmark" dialog does not work after opening the "Show all the bookmarks folders" button and hiding it back to the smaller bookmark dialog. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Click on star in address bar to "bookmark this page." 2. Click again if this is a new bookmark to bring up the "edit bookmark" dialog. 3. Click the "Show all the bookmarks folders" button (down arrow) on the right. 4. Click the "hide" button to hide the full folder list and return back. (IOW, the down arrow clicked last step becomes an up arrow. Click on that button.) 5. Click on the "folder" drop down and select one of your recently used folders at the bottom. 6. Notice that the folder you selected is not show in the folder box. If you do the steps above without doing 3 & 4, selecting a recently used folder does work as expected. Actual Results: Folder selected is not used/does not populate the bookmark folder field. Expected Results: Folder selected should have shown in the folder field after the selection.
Hmm, this is WFM. Is your Issue reproducible without Extensions in Safe-Mode and/or using a new Profile? https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Safe+Mode https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Managing+profiles#Creating_a_profile
Version: unspecified → 4.0 Branch
Yes, I can reproduce this in Safe-Mode. Did not try new profile yet. However, I see that it doesn't always do it as I had originally thought. Unfortunately I can not find the case that causes it to happen every single time for you yet.
If you can figure out if this is bound to you personal places.sqlite File, you might want to copy that in a new Profile and run Components.utils.import("resource://gre/modules/PlacesDBUtils.jsm"); PlacesDBUtils.checkAndFixDatabase(); in the Error Console.
Jeff -> Any update? Is this still happening for you? Did you ever try a new profile?
Ok, I took the time to look at this more. -Created a new profile and the same problem happened. It also happened if I ran the new profile in safe mode. -Then I ran the checkAndFixDatabase code above on the new profile and it seems to be working correctly now. Oh BTW, I'm running version 9.0.1 now (since many revs came since initial report date.)
Jeff -> Make a backup of your "bad profile" and then run the code. It shouldn't do any harm, but better safe than sorry. Report back with your results
