Details

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 5.1; rv:2.0.1) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/4.0.1
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 5.1; rv:2.0.1) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/4.0.1

If Firefox is started by e.g. clicking a link in Thunderbird, and this link leads to a webpage requiring HTTP basic authentication, Firefox doesn't ask for a password but immediately goes to the 401 Unauthorized error.

During normal browsing, opening or clicking links from anywhere do create the prompt for username and password. But for some reason this doesn't happen if Firefox is _started_ with such an authenticated link as parameter.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Close all Firefox instances
2. In another application (e.g. Thunderbird), click on a link that leads to a webpage requiring HTTP authentication.
3. Observe how Firefox shows a 401 Unauthorized message rather than prompting for a username and password.

Actual Results:
See #3 above.

Expected Results:
Firefox should ask for the username and password like it always does.
