Need to understand the technical side of this request. We'd like the CTA button to link directly to Sync setup wizard.
Overall this bug is also to implement the designs being created in bug 659513 to change the panda/wheel design on the /fx landing page to a new Sync and Mobile content.

Steven - heads up that this is coming down the line.

Caitlin - who's the best person to ask about what the possibilities are for linking the CTA (call-to-action) directly to the Sync setup wizard?
Target Milestone: --- → 2.8
Again, assigning to Caitlin until we're ready to implement for Fx5 launch.

This Sync creative will rotate 50/50 with Android creative also being created now.

Target Milestone: 2.8 → 2.9
The sync creative is now ready to go in bug 659513.

I don't think Mobile and Sync ended up in the same piece of creative, and that no new 100% android creative is coming as thought in Comment 2, so go ahead and get started here.

How do we link to the sync setup wizard? Is there a URL for that? (the question applies both to the blue "Get in Sync" button, and the "Add a device" link.

Unfortunately there's no way to trigger the sync setup wizard. Please link "Get in Sync" to: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/mobile/sync/

Caitlin - where should "Add a device" link?
Oh bummer - that's what I was trying to ask - how we can make setup easier for the user and just launch the wizard. Yes, then the link Laura provides in comment #5 is the ticket. Add a device is also part of the wizard if someone already has sync account. Due to this learning, I think we should just remove this link below.

How do we know we can hook up the wizard? We're able to connect promos to in-product pages in mobile...??
Should we still go ahead and build out the page?
Yes. We definitely want to still raise awareness and increase discoverability. This is a highly trafficked page, so I'd like to see how this performs, just would have like to have optimized the user flow more.

Laura F - Is there someone we can speak to to double check this, or investigate this functionality in the future? Thanks!

Yes - I learned about this by asking in the #sync IRC channel and they explained the limitations to me. Ask there if you have further Sync questions. Would be really useful to have this more connected in the future.
This is last on the list of pre-launch tickets - and won't be ready today. Can this go out after the Firefox 5 launch?
Next release is fine. I am more interested in getting the Firefox for Android CTA out and live.
Target Milestone: 2.9 → 2.10
I understand that this will be rotating out with the Android version of the page too. Will the current (panda/wheel) version of the page stay in the mix, or will it just be the two new versions (sync + android)?

lforrest clarified on the phone today that the panda goes.

I'm also updating this bug to cover both the Sync and Android promos. The Android promo was formerly Bug 659519.

Both are implemented in trunk in r91309, with a random rotation:

http://www-trunk.stage.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/fx/

The Sync promo includes a Mac screenshot - should we be doing platform detection to show a windows/linux shot in there, or just use the mac shot for everyone?

Good, thanks for combining.

Looks great.

Since the Mac screenshot is so small, and not the main focal point of this promo, just using a Mac screenshot is fine. Thanks for checking though.
Thanks - merged to stage in r91554.

Farewell, panda.

Update to this folks - before you get too happy! We're finishing up user testing on this page to help us learn as much as we can about the effect of this page's design (interactive wheel, illustrated animals). I didn't realize the testing was still going on, so let's wait to push this until the 3.0 release, next Tuesday.

I'm moving it to that release and I'll also follow up via e-mail to make sure it's not deployed.

Also, adding Philipp & Jennifer to make sure they're coordinating on their end too :-)

One more bug, the download button does not appear in Chrome, but does appear in FX5: http://www.diigo.com/item/image/1981d/nj2m
"Passwords" typo (for shame!) and non-Firefox button gradients fixed in trunk in r91605 (though, we only show this page to Firefox users).

Merged to stage in r91554 and r91606.
This is all set. See push timing information in comment #17.

Moving to 3.1 as eye-tracking is ongoing through the end of next week (this took longer than expected).
Target Milestone: 3.0 → 3.1
Is eye-tracking still going on?

Nope! You are clear to push live!
Hey James - this is ready to be pushed. It's from 3.1 but I just move to 3.3 so it'll be on our push radar for tomorrow's release. Thanks!

Consider this a dupe of Bug 668112 now, which does need QA.
