Well there is file - new tab I guess. Maybe we should always show the tab bar in this case though
Keywords: uiwanted
fwiw i think an additional button on the window would be a better solution. when someone check the tab "off" they do not want to see any tabs at all.
My idea is that the add-ons manager could open as a new window (like with the old add-on manager)if the tab bar is not shown. Then you could just close it when your done with it and be back where you started without having to think about tabs at all.

It has been removed in Firefox (bug 855370), but what about SeaMonkey? Toolkit bugs like this one ought to apply to both browsers.

This should have really been a Firefox bug, it's Firefox that does the hiding. If Seamonkey does it too then there should be a Seamonkey bug filed.

INVALID stands, but for a different reason: the addons manager is now a browser tab. So unless it is the only tab in its window, the tab bar will be shown (in SeaMonkey at least); and if it is, Alt→Tab, or clicking the other window on the OS toolbar, will get out of it (assuming you don't want to close it).
