User unfreindly since windows shows ff as 'not responding' during the 20 or so seconds required to display the page on my fast computer. Cpu is also maxed out in one thread. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. got to about:preferences 2. wait for ff to unfreeze Actual Results: Firefox freezes soetimes it shows the 'script has stopped responding' message, but not always Expected Results: the page to load AND firefox stay responsive
The page is also laggy
Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:6.0a2) Gecko/20110527 Firefox/6.0a2 As far as I know there is no "about:preferences" in Firefox Aurora. When I try to visit that page my Firefox just says: "The URL is not valid and cannot be loaded." Are you sure it's "about:preferences" that causes the problem? Does the issue still occur if you start Firefox in Safe Mode? https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Safe+Mode

I am flummoxed. I wish I had gotten a screenshot. I updated aurora this morning and the about:preferences page no longer exists. I will look further. OOPS: It's about:permissions

This is probably a freeze related to a 'busy script'.

just loading the page. And I suspect a clean profile would cause no problems, but I will check.
No problems, just after browsing through enough sites that it fills the list. This is then probably related to bug 660698

Yes. It still occurs. It looks like this is a result of the large list that has to be loaded for all the sites I have visited.
do you see this in a current version with firefox started in safe mode?
