Hey Tara. I'm putting this request in a bug so we are not relying on email. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Tara Shahian" <tshahian@mozilla.com> To: "Chris More" <cmore@mozilla.com> Sent: Tuesday, May 24, 2011 9:52:59 AM Subject: Re: Community Store Hi, yes, I"m the owner and should have access to that data... but the thing is I can't find the login info... that data is on zazzle and I still need to retrieve my login into to get access. I know that the store is not inactive...so I rather not pull it down if we don't have to. If so, do you know how much sales per month is done through that store? We took down the website because of many security issues found and we are wondering how much people investment is worth to fix the problem. If the the cost of fixing the community store is more than it receives over a period of time, we may want to decide if is the right next move. > > Let me know what you think. > > Thanks, > Chris

Tara: If the Website Task Force decides that this website should be retired, this may be a moot point. Do you just want to wait until they make a decision or should we use the sales numbers + traffic numbers to help determine if this website comes back online? Thanks, Chris
I think it would be nice to wait and see what the numbers look like. However, there are two sites here: * The community store * The zazzle storefront both are linked together, but the zazzle storefront doesn't have to go down, right? I know we have ongoing sales activity... it's not a compelling number, but if the store is active... I rather not tear it down. Especially in the absence of an alternative. The problem is that I don't have access to the zazzle storefront right now to check sales data.. I'm trying to get that as soon as I can and will post the numbers I find. For the community store hosted by us, I don't think I have access to the data on that either. Back then it was on urchin I believe. I'll see if I can dig something up.
I attached the numbers for the traffic to the website on the communitystore.mozilla.org side. ~500 daily visitors. Not a whole bunch, but I was hoping to find out how much those 500 daily visitors create in purchases. According to this documentation: https://wiki.mozilla.org/CommunityStore It says that Zazzle.com hosts the store, but I don't see the clarification on what is the purpose of having something on our side. You have a good point that if we can keep the zazzle.com store and even if we retire communitystore.mozilla.org. Do you feel Zazzle.com/mozilla can live on and have enough context and content to not have a sister website on our side? Thanks, Chris
Tara: Did you ever get access to zazzle to find out the sales numbers for the store? Even though it is going to be retired, I think it is important documentation so that if others question the move, we have all of the appropriate documentation. Chris
We don't need stats now that we are going to close the communitystore website.

Didn't get access to the Store, but can always get that later since the Storefront is still live on Zazzle. Thanks guys.
