Add a --url flag to cfx run so it automatically opens a specific URL when Firefox opens.

It'd be nice for people working with page-mods and web content scripts to be able to specify a url (or a list of urls?) to be opened automatically when using cfx run, so they don't have to manually type or paste in a URL to load a needed webpage.

This is my first time working with all of you. I am very much a novice at anything that goes along with computers. I'm still stuck on why when I bring up notebook it is still 50% jiberish...anyway I will send what I'm able to and you can let me know what you think. Thanks in advance.... it says Bug 661468. It also says that this bug doesn't depend on any bugs and it doesn't block any bugs. also found on the following page, this number in a bright green box 661468.

Looking at this again, I think there's an argument available for Firefox's command line to load a URL. That can be passed in to cfx as a --binary-args thing since bug 646345 landed a few months ago. So I guess this could be WONTFIXed, although there might be an argument to be made for exposing this one as its own flag for cfx as it could be used more frequently in add-on development/testing than the other binary-args.

I haven't seen much use of --binary-args yet, but I can imagine that this might be a common option. I think we should start by suggesting folks use --binary-args for this, and we can also show them how to set default arguments so they don't have to type in the binary args value every time. Then, if we notice enough use to justify a separate command-line flag, we can add one at that time. lfolladori: I think you are trying to resolve an unrelated problem. Try going to http://support.mozilla.org/ and using that site to identify and resolve your problem.
